MEEP:
TR-25
U.S. AIR FORCE
MANAGEMENT EVALUATION EQUIPMENT
PROGRAM
FINAL REPORT - 25,000 LB ABOVE GROUND
LIFT
PROJECT NO V91-78
BAILMENT NO 91-78
1. Description of Project:
- Purpose: The project was established to
determine through field evaluation if the above ground 4-Post Ramp Style
offers any advantages over the twin post lifts mounted under ground
to justify Air Force adoption.
- Equipment Evaluated: 25,000 pound above
ground lift was evaluated by the 834th TRNSS Vehicle Maintenance
Shop, Hurlburt Air Force Base FL.
2. Discussion:
- The use of the 25,000 lb Above Ground
Lift makes the job easier when working on large/heavy vehicles while
performing under the chassis tasks. It eliminates the use of hydraulic
jacks and stands and lying in the prone position to repair under chassis
jobs. There is no limit to undercarriage repair, making even the most
complex transmission, rear end or driveline system repairs quick and
easy. The 25K lift provides greater access in utilizing large tool items
such as transmission jacks, large tool boxes or any large tool item
that may be needed to do under chassis repair.
- Advantages: The 25K Lift provides
the under chassis access that is needed to repair the heavier vehicles
in a timely manner. Vehicles of all sizes and types can be repaired
using the 25K due to its adjustable tracks which can be arranged from
3 to 9 feet in width.
- Disadvantages: None.
3. Conclusion:
Due to the favorable evaluation, the lift was sent through channels for
cataloging.
4. On
behalf of the Air Force, we wish to express our appreciation for your
participation in this project. We welcome products for project consideration
that have the potential for solving vehicle and equipment maintenance
problems and improving civil engineering and transportation effectiveness
within the Air Force.
